Mattel, are you listening?

I posed this on Matty's forum here:

Alright, Matty. You've given us a really cool Ecto-1 Exclusive by finally getting us the Rookie. Props for adding on the trap and some other equipment to the tool belt too. But I want to see the Female Rookie from the stylized version made. Ok, so it's going to be a whole new sculpt? I got that. But I can think of four easy uses of this sculpt.

#1 - The Video Game Rookie (Female)

#2 - Real Ghostbusters Janine  - Won't need Annie Potts' permission

#3 - From IDW's Ghostbusters series, the half-sister of Gozer... Rachel Unglighter

#4 - Extreme Ghostbusters Kylie (Stylized by IDW's Ghostbusters Tristan Jones)

Tunes For Tuesday

I used to write for a music blog called Stuck on Loop with my best friend, Sean, but the blog kind of died. It was a blog where we'd write about a song of the day. The songs were mostly a song that one of us would have stuck in our head for the day and we'd review and talk about the song. Well, like I said, we killed that blog because of real life eating us up. Kind of like how I have been quiet on here lately. I've been battling a stomach issue and some other things but now that I'm back in the saddle, I can start this up again and I'd like to start a Tunes For Tuesday where I'd pick a song or a series of songs to write about. For this first edition, I want to keep it related to Ghostbusters and the site. I'm going with The Gaslight Anthem.

Whaa--? How does that relate to either Ghostbusters or the site itself? Well, it's simple. The band is from New Jersey, where the site head quarters are. The song is "That '59 Sound," which has a retro feel to it and 1959 is the year for the Ecto-1's make.

With a Bruce kind of feel to this song, it's a well written modern day classic rock kind of song; but with a dark twist. It's about someone dying on a Saturday night on his or her way to a concert.

THE INFESTATION HAS BEGUN!

So the Infestation from IDW started in January with IDW's own first issue of INFESTATION and then carried into February with Transformers and Star Trek taking weekly turns for updates. Tomorrow, for NEW COMIC BOOK DAY WEDNESDAY, we see more updates with GIJOE and then, GHOSTBUSTBUSERS. Cool deal, eh brah?

The Real Mini Mates...

Thanks to a heads up from the Ghostbusters message board at Matty's, I found about this set that Art Asylum is offering at Toys R Us come April. They look pretty cool.

Bill Murray and Ghostheads...

Not yet posting but... http://picstexted.com/view/mobile-phone-pic/217

Courtroom Peter Venkman

Bill Murray in Plastic.
I'm doing my first real mobile post. Kinda excited. Kinda not excited on the product this time so I'm blogging from the throne room. Kidding. Possibly.

Okay. So first thing is first. The visual packaging. I'm not one for packaging most of the time but it was cool to see how Mattel put use of the Ghostbusters II one the white protective box for shipping. Man is it cool to see that they care enough to make a change like that. I'm being serious too. It tells me that they took the time to do that. But the actual blister pack set up? Still from the first movie's rooftop scene. Terror dogs and Staypuft. I would have liked some Vigo art gallery or jello going on. Oh well. I got the toy for the toy and not the packaging.
Bill Murray in Ghostbusters II.
So let's go on to the toy. Another Peter. This time it's Scrooge edition. He's in his courtroom clothing with a irremovable Proton pack. Uhh that kinda sucks. I really didn't want another Peter- slimed or not. So that's why I got it for the pack in.
Bill Murray in Scrooged.

And that turns out to be a sad item. The Scoleri brother ghost has awesome paint apps and detailing. Except the promise is in the details... The ghost cannot stand on it's own. He did not even come with a base to make mock flight. But wait! His ankles have a ball-in-socket set up but he cannot be set up right to stand. Sigh. Yeah this figure is not getting my highest praise.

***EDIT: After getting ready to toss out the rest of the blister packaging, I happened to find a second set of feet that allow for this to be changed. I'm still feeling numb to this addition though.
