Roddenberry'd Treasures: The New Star Trek Podcast

Weekly "Mission Log" analyzes every episode, one by one.

Right now at Star Trek Las Vegas, great throngs of the franchise's fans (Trekkies? Trekkers? We refuse to take a stand on such controversial issues) have gathered to share their love of every single detail in the Gene-Roddenberry-created universe. Most will have seen every episode, perhaps more than once; some will think they already know every minute detail. Not so fast. Tonight at the convention, Roddenberry Entertainment will celebrate the launch of a brand new podcast on the Nerdist Network entitled Mission Log, which will offer in-depth analysis based on exclusive access to the Roddenberry family archives, including Gene's handwritten notes on his original scripts.

Created by Eugene "Rod" Roddenberry (Gene's son), and hosted by veteran podcasters and Star Trek aficionados John Champion (DVD Geeks) and Ken Ray (Mac OS Ken), Mission Log will offer a balanced yet critical analysis of the underlying themes, metaphors and subtexts intertwined in each Star Trek episode, from "The Cage" through to the final episode of Enterprise, and every animated episode and movie in between. It will be available free every week at Nerdist.com and MissionLogPodcast.com, so unlike many of the attractions available to fans visiting Vegas, it's no gamble.

Interact with the show on Twitter and Facebook for a chance to have your comments included on an episode; we know there are some of you out there who still have issues more burning than Pon Farr about specific minutiae. So pack up your Tribbles and prick up your pointy ears - for the true fan, Mission Log is the only logical choice in weekly audio entertainment.
